Welcome!!

Welcome to "A Healthier Us".

I have been reading a number of different blogs and so many people seemed so frustrated and disappointed in their weight loss/exercise/dieting efforts lately . Since I know how hard any of those are to do, and since many of us are bloggers already and spend time online as it is, I thought it might be a cool idea to create a "support" blog of sorts. I need to get my ass in gear and get healthy, that's for sure! And I could sure use some advice and support.

I think we all have things that work and don't work for us. Maybe we could share those things with each other. Whether it be an exercise tip, a healthy recipe, a diet trick that wards off hunger!! lol Anything would be cool. It's not ALL about becoming a skinny twig of a person. It's about eating healthy, exercising and developing a healthier lifestyle. The "skinny" is a bonus!

Anyway....this is just an idea. We will see how much interest there is (if any) and go from there. Feel free to comment with your feedback or tip or trick.

~~Chelle

I will second the Welcome! I sure hope that we all find it easier with each other's support.

For me, the worst part is exercising. I don't like to do it on my own. I am thinking of joining the local fitness center and am going to check it out in the morning.
I know if I can get going I will be fine..it is just starting that sucks :)

Great idea, I'm in. My goal's to get back to "irresistable" weight. That's the weight at which I literally have to beat women away with a club. Fortunately for y'all I don't own a club.

I think I am the classic overweight person
1. I eat too much
2. I don't exercise enough (if at all)
3. I eat when I am bored, sad, happy, whenever.

Hi There!
Greetings from New Hampshire.

I love your idea for supporting "A Healthier Us"

I currently just started seeing a nutritionist. She has me on a low sugar, lean protien, veggie and fruit diet.
I drinkg tons of water. Crystal light has on the go peach tea and honey green tea which helps me keep the waters going in.
I can feel the weight falling off!

Plus, I also recently got rid of a negative guy who was holding me down. He never made me feel "good enuff" or "sexi enuff" ... my self esteem was at the bottom. Self worth is huge when getting healthy.

I see my nutritionist tomorrow. I can share some tips if interested.

BTW, you have a great blog...
Take care,
Melanie aka shesaid

Hi Again,
I went to see my nutritionist yesterday and I was down 5 pounds.
My mental state of mind is so positive. I am on a mission. I almost feel "high" doing this.

My nutritionist had me cut down on the sodium, drink 64 oz of water daily,(flush out the toxins) and eat more lean protein. Limiting fruits with have natural sugar.
Loading up on green veggies. All I can eat!

Protein keeps the metabolism working. I'm not watching calories or exercising. However I eat 6 small meals a day.

Thin and Trim turkey and roast beef, salmon and tuna in the travel packages, hard boiled eggs, and low sodium cottage cheese.

I go back to see her on Monday again. I'll pass more tips your way.

Melanie

This blog is great idea, it is often easier to stay committed to exercise and getting healthier when you have support from people working toward similar goals.
